Subjunctive QuestionWhat would have happened if the axis had one? Would Churchill have been hung?
Interesting FactOn 14 January 1942, representatives from the nine countries occupied by Germany met in London to draft the "Inter-Allied Resolution on German War Crimes". At the meetings in Tehran (1943), Yalta (1945) and Potsdam (1945), the three major wartime powers, the United Kingdom, United States, and the Soviet Union, agreed on the format of punishment for those responsible for war crimes during World War II.

Quote
Naturally, the common people don't want war, neither in Russia no in England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. that is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country.

Summary
The Nuremberg trials was a significant part of the was and really makes you think what would have happened if the Germans had won the war. Would they have treated the allied leaders the same way, or worse? Anyway the Trials condemned the members of the Nazi party with a life sentence or a death sentence. Even though 177 Nazis were put on trial a lot were able to escape. Some were never caught and lived the rest of their life in the peace of their family.
