Summary
There were two opposing sides during this time period. The Reds(Bolsheviks) who were lower class people, and the Whites who were upper class people. Peasants were neutral as they didn't have anything to lose. The Whites won early victories during the war, however, the reds were more centralized, had most of the population in favour of them, and possessed much of the industry. Leon Trotsky made it possible for the Reds to win.
