Subjunctive Question
The League of Nations was the first international organization who's wish was to promote world peace and to ensure that a repeat of WW1 never broke out. Unfortunately it was doomed from the beginning as none of the large World Powers were involved. The US wasn't involved because of there idea of isolationism. Russia wasn't involved because they were a communist state. Germany wasn't involved because they started the war. Both the League of Nations and the United Nations were founded on the principle of collective security.
