- Depth charges, Asdic, hedgehog, radar and long range aircraft and carrier based aircraft all help cure the problem

Summary
The battle of the Atlantic was a battle for the control of the North Atlantic Ocean, lasting from 1934-1944. This was an important battle as the North Atlantic Ocean was the vital link that brought supplies from Canada and the USA to Britain. Without this lifeline, Britain could no have carried the war. Britain won the war as they were prepared with Depth charges, Asdic, hedgehog, radar and long range aircraft and carrier based aircraft all help cure the problem.
