Interesting Fact
In the first year of repayment after the Dawes Plan, the maximum expected to be paid by the Allies was 1 billion marks. During this time, it was hoped and expected that Germany’s economy would pick up. Therefore it was decided that subsequent payments after the first year would be 2.5 billion marks.
