Summary
Stalin and Trotsky were in a huge power struggle after Lenin died. One of there major debates that lasted 3 years was the "guns or butter" debate. This was a debate over Stalin want for industry, and Trotsky's want to consumer goods. After Stalin's 3 years of successes, he expelled Trotsky from the Soviet Union who was later assassinated. Stalin then follows the "socialism in one country" slogan.
